Documentary Brings End-of-Life Issues to the Forefront

On Friday, November 9th, co-producers Michael Bernhagen and Terry Kaldhusdal facilitated their highly acclaimed Theatrical Film Presentation and Community Conversation event at the Fox Cities Peforming Arts Center in Appleton, Wisconsin.  The event, underwritten by Theda Care at Home with proceeds benefitting the Fox Valley End of Life Coalition and the Community Hospice Foundation, was the subject of a major article written by Cheryl Anderson of the Appleton Post-Crescent. 

Producers Recognized for Excellence in End-of-Life Care

Michael Bernhagen and Terry Kaldhusdal were presented with Agrace HospiceCare's Excellence in End-of-Life Care Award at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, Wisconsin today (10/15) for their work on Consider the Conversation: A Documentary on a Taboo Subject. The award, given annually during Agrace's End-of-Life Forum, recognizes a community member who has made a difference in the lives of patients with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Producers Win Award for Journalistic Excellence

On Friday, May 18th, Terry Kaldhusdal and Michael Bernhagen received a Silver Award for "Best Documentary or News Special" at the 82nd Annual Milwaukee Press Club Awards for Excellence in Wisconsin Journalism banquet at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Milwaukee.  In particular, Bernhagen and Kaldhusdal were recognized for the quality of their work on Consider the Conversation: A Documentary on a Taboo Subject - a film about the American struggle with communicaton and preparation at end-of-life.

CTC Co-Producer Makes Rare Radio Appearance

Earlier today (4/18), Consider the Conversation co-producer, Michael Bernhagen, made a rare radio appearance along with Karen Carrig, President & CEO of Rainbow Hospice Care, on AM-940 WFAW's Morning Magazine Show in the small southern Wisconsin city of Fort Atkinson.

Together the pair talked about hospice care, the documentary, the Wisconsin Medical Society's response to the film's call to action, and the importance of talking with patients about end-of-life wishes at a time when they're not dying.
